A one-hour lesfic workshop in the 1st floor green room. Hear Sam Skyborne and V.A Fearon read from their books; have an informal discussion about these books and lesfic in general; find out about the process of writing lesfic; ask the author’s questions. You can also purchase a book and ask them to sign it if you want to! Don’t miss this intimate roundtable – get up and close to some great lesfic authors!

Improvisation2.30pm-3.30pm Workshop 2 – improvisation

The session will start with icebreakers and warm up games for about the first part, then do some scene games after a short break. This session is about letting go, having a chance to play and forget the stresses of life. It will be great for increasing confidence, meeting new people and having lots of fun.

3.30pm-4.30pm Workshop 3 – Women’s Space Discussion

We will be holding a discussion on women’s spaces and community spaces. Come along, share your thoughts and listen to others. Brainstorm and learn.

Hosted by Olimpia and Alison from the Save the Joiners campaign, working to create a community-run pub in East London.

5pm-6pm Workshop 4 – Drag King Workshop from Benjamin Butch and Zayn Phallic

We MOUSTACHE you a question… Do you wanna be a DRAG KING? Two of the cabaret scene’s favourite drag kings, Benjamin Butch and Zayn Phallic, will be joining forces to teach you how to get your drag on. Once we’ve covered your look, we’ll help you with performance technique, character development and physicality, and how to create your act. You’ll soon be ready to hit that cabaret stage! Expect fun, frolics and phallicity in a workshop that welcomes everyone from new kings to total beginners. This workshop is open to all genders, sexualities and identities.

Benjamin Butch is a flamboyant drag artist who enjoys challenging the construction of masculinity and femininity. Bar Wotever resident and King of the Fringe 2016 winner, Ben has performed his unique style of drag at cabarets and Prides across the country.

Zayn Phallic’s next generation drag style of drag has been taking the cabaret scene by storm since he began performing in 2017. Known for nudity and mess onstage and collaboration and community off it, he is the creator and curator of the KOC (Kings of Colour) Initiative, a project that seeks to address the lack of diversity on the drag king scene. Described as “hilarious and necessary”, Zayn Phallic is the drag king with a heart (and a hard on) of gold.
